Spitbank Fort - The Solent

The World Sport Peace Project - Israel

Spitbank Fort - The Solent

In 2008 we were asked to produce a short documentary about one of the most unique entertainment venues in the South of England.
The venue is Spitbank Fort and it lies approximately one mile from the coast of Portsmouth and four miles away from The Isle Of Wight.

With a long history and many different roles over the years, the Fort is now owned by three entrepreneurs, including Neil Brickwood - who gives us a detailed tour around the Fort and some details of the building`s history.

Apart from its use as an entertainment venue, the Fort is also used as an exclusive hotel and the ideal place to cut yourself off and `get away from it all`.

At the time of our filming - one recent famous guest was Davina McCall, who stayed over at the Fort for a weekend.

The film was made whilst a dance/rave was taking place on the Fort and we see some clips from this event.
The Promoters of this event, Matt Handy / Contact - have been using the Fort as an entertainment venue for several years.

The World Sport Peace Project - Israel

In 2003 we came involved in a very worthy project based around a football tournament to be held in the troubled state of Israel.
A number of individuals, including Geoffrey Whitfield ( an Ex- Methodist Minister ) , David Bedford ( Athlete and now Director of The London Marathon ) and several senior Sports Lecturers from UK Universities, had put together a plan to run the tournament in and around Nazareth in Israel to promote co-operation and reconcilliation between the various ethnic communities in the region.

The project was supported by The British Council in Israel and the team had managed to secure significant sponsorship from companies both in the UK and USA.

We paid two visits to Israel in 2003, the first as a recon trip to make arrangements for 6 days and then again a few months later to record the tournament and the training in sport management and conflict prevention.

A team of 21 people including Geoffrey Whitfield - Project Director and the film crew from `One 2 Watch` , flew out from Heathrow Airport to facilitate the event.

The purpose of the film was as a documentary to chronicle the progress made and achievements of the project, but also to act as a promotional tool to achieve support and sponsorship for future similar events.
